Most mothers have to argue with, cajole & needle their sons to dress up for nice events. I’m in the minority, my boys LOVE wearing ties. I’m not saying that when they are dressed up they stay all neat and tidy or anything….their shirts are always untucked, the knees of their pants often dirty, and they always look a bit rumpled. But that just makes them look like adorable boys. I used to buy ties from children’s clothes shops, but they are kind of dull, and aren’t that durable. So this Easter I decided to think outside the box and bought the boys ties from etsy.com. I got a bundle of 8 ties from addylynn’s shop on etsy ~ not just any ol’ ties mind you, these were snazzy ties, with great designs. There were pirates, robots, star wars figures, Christmas designs, and more! The boys were over the moon about their new ties! Some of them were “ready to wear” with Velcro, and some were standard ties, and there was a variety of sizes. It’s a great collection of ties, much cooler than their daddy’s ties.  I’ve gotten so many compliments on these awesome ties. And what I love about them is that they are so unique, like my boys.

Judy, from addylynn, has generously given me this super cool spider tie to give away to one lucky reader! It is size 4, and has Velcro tabs, so it’s ready to wear! one down, three to go

i finished henry's winter hat last night.  it took me one week to make.  because i am slow.  it probably would have taken my crocheting mentor, auntie annie, about an hour to make.  i am still pretty new & slow and I have to sneak in these little pockets of time for crocheting.  it calms me.  so i have one winter hat finished, and three to go.  ella's is on the hook now. 

i love this pattern for the "little people" hat, i found it on etsy, created by mamachee.  i made several of them last winter too, henry came home from the hospital in one.  if you are looking for an easy pattern for cutting your crocheting teeth on, i suggest you look no further.  fyi:  i made henry the child-sized version, because my stitching is so tight the infant one wouldn't fit his big noggin.
