Tis the Season for Gift Giving: Hand Made Wooden Ornament Giveaway - CLOSED

This year I did some of my holiday shopping on Etsy, I love Etsy, it's a wonderful way for crafters to sell their wares.  Have you checked out this site yet?  You really should, you can find just about anything you'd like on here.  There's a handmade gift out there for everyone on your list.  There's such a wide variety of unique items, I can't even begin to list my favorite sellers.   Sorry for the informercial here, but I am a proud Etsy shop owner, and an addicted Etsy shopper.

But while looking for ornaments on Etsy I stumbled upon Jeneene, who makes handmade, personalized wooden ornaments.  And the discovery of her shop was like a trip down memory lane.  You see, for years a friend of our family has bought ornaments for me and my siblings each year for Christmas.  And when I was a very little girl she had bought two ornaments for me that were made by Jeneene.  Imagine my surprise to find the creator of these treasured ornaments on Etsy!  So I of course made a purchase.  And asked her if she would like to do a giveaway on the blog ~ because I love her ornaments so, and I know my readers will love them too!  So this week's giveaway is an ornament of your choosing from Jeneene's wide selection of hand-crafted wooden ornaments on Etsy.  I really think you are going to love Jeneene's work.  She has been making ornaments since 1975 and she has made hundreds of different designs!  So even if you don't win this one, you might find something in her shop for those special people on your holiday shopping list!  And as long as you order by December 17th you should get your ornaments before Christmas!

Here are the rules:
One winner will receive a FREE handmade personalized wooden ornament from byJeneene's Etsy shop
The winner will be chosen on Thursday, December 9, 2010 using random.org
The winner will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen (be sure I have your contact info!)
Two entries per person (see below)

How to enter:
~ Entry One:  Visit byJeneene's Etsy shop and leave a comment below telling us what your favorite ornament in her shop is.
~ Entry Two:  Leave a comment below telling me what your favorite holiday tradition is

Best of luck!  And happy shopping on Etsy!

My favorite Tradition is that every year We get a new Christmas book and we read it on Christmas eve. The Elf on the shelf is a big hit too =D

We have many traditions I love and are starting new ones that promise to be wonderful too! We always make cookies and candy, so of course the boys love that ;) We drive around and look for Christmas lights. We just started our Elf on the Shelf tradition and the boys are really into that one as well!

My Mom's favorite thing for Christmas was filling the stockings. Since she traveled all over the world she would always have interesting and fun little treasures for our stockings. She's been gone almost 11 years..and all of us are grown(the oldest is 43!)..but we still do stockings every year!

My favorite thing is choosing names off of the Salvation Army angel tree. We always try and pick out a few kids the same age as our little guy.

Traditions. Well, every year, the day after Thanksgiving we go downtown and watch the Christmas Tree lighting. And on Christmas Eve we let the girls open one present each. My parents did that with us when we were little and we loved it, as do my girls. Listening to Christmas music and just being together.

I really like the Baby's first christmas ornament. How cool that she personalizes it with hair & skin color! If I don't win, I'll probably buy this one! Thanks Katie for the tip. I really like looking around on Etsy!

My favorite tradition? Hmmm...there are so many. I think it's probably the Christmas Eve service at church. The candles and Silent Night are so beautiful and it's the perfect way to spend Christmas Eve. Plus we get home early enough to put the kids to bed at a decent hour. I also love going downtown with Dave & the kids. There's so much to see and it's so fun for all of us!!!

We make cookies on the 1st snowfall of the year. Also, the kids love getting to open one present on Christmas Eve which is their christmas pj's.

I love the pet ones, but when I saw the one she did in Spanish, I knew it was for me Nativity Scene Creche Christmas... that would look wonderful on my tree with our family name and the year added to it...

Since we live in a multicultural household, we combine our cultures for the holiday. We have Ham for the American culture, toutiere (meat pies) for the French Canadian heritage of my dad and mom's family, and tamales for hubby's Central American heritage... lots of great food and fun!
