I was asked to review and give away a copy of a children's book called Cincinnati - Our City, Our Story, and I was tickled pink about it.  For so many reasons!   First and foremost, I never turn away free books as our family loves to read!  And secondly, I was intrigued about a book that was written about Cincinnati and illustrated by local children.  AND  bonus, this book will benefit Every Child Succeeds.  I loved everything about this book even before it arrived in the mail!

Here's a little bit more about Cincinnati - Our City, Our Story from their press release:
How the Cincinnati Storyteller’s Project Came to Life

The vision of the Cincinnati Storyteller’s Project was brought to life through a community collaboration of numerous dedicated generous local groups, businesses and individuals including local author Louise Borden who donated her talents to write the text, local artists Loren Long, Will Hillenbrand, and C.F. Payne who donated their talents to collaborate on cover artwork and blue manatee press which donated its services to publish the book. An area wide contest was held to collect drawings from local youth, which were used to illustrate the book.
Thanks to a matching grant from the Smale Family Foundation, along with donations from many other companies, individuals and charitable organizations, all of the printing and distribution costs were covered allowing the group to donate 100% of the wholesale proceeds to Every Child Succeeds, a local nonprofit whose mission, along with its three founding partners- Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, United Way of Greater Cincinnati and Community Action Agency, is to offer high risk families in Greater Cincinnati and their families support to ensure an optimal start for their children. Every Child Succeeds will use the proceeds it receives from the sale of the books to purchase books for its nearly 2,000 enrolled families and support literacy programs for children 0-3 years of age.

You can find Cincinnati - Our City, Our Story at Blue Manatee Books for $16.99, or you can enter to win one below!  This would make a perfect holiday gift for a special child in your life.

My kids absolutely loved this book.  They loved pointing out landmarks that they recognized from our many adventures in this area, and they loved that the pictures were drawn by children their own age.  I think that gave them a sense of awe over what children can do!  The book sits on our coffee table, and is much loved.

I have a copy of Cincinnati - Our City, Our Story  by Louise Borden to give away to one lucky winner.  I will draw a name using Random.org on Wednesday, December 12th at 2pm.  The winner will be announced here on the blog and on the little things facebook page.  You will have 24 hours to respond or another name will be drawn.

How to Enter ::

1.Leave a comment below telling me who you would give this book to (or would you keep it?).

2.  For an extra entry have your child draw a picture of their favorite landmark and post it on the little things blog facebook page and then leave a comment telling me you did so.  I figure this entry might keep your little ones occupied while you make dinner ;)

3.  Share this giveaway with friends and then leave a comment telling me how you spread the word.

Disclaimer:  As a Thank You for hosting this giveaway, I was given a free copy of the book Cincinnati:  Our City, Our Story to review and keep.

I would give it to my 4 grandchildren ages 20mos-7yrs. They just moved back to Cincinnati from Germany. This would make a great book to teach them all about this great city!

I will keep the book for myself and for my girls. We don't have an interesting book about the places they have been, or may not have been to yet. It would be interesting to have the book for reference and someday they will be able to share with their own children their childhood, history of the places they've been to and want to see.
