Sesame Beef Stir Fry with Roasted Broccoli

This meal is so very easy to prepare, and is always a hit with my family.  The key to making this dish delicious though is getting the right meat.  You really don't want cheap, fatty, chewy meat.  Michael seems to think that sirloin works best.  Also, be sure to start this dish the day before you plan to eat it...I think the overnight marinade is important so the meat can suck up all those good juices in the marinade.  We like the sesame beef and roasted broccoli served over rice.  Enjoy!

Sesame Beef Stir Fry with Roasted Broccoli

1 lb. Sirloin Steak cut into skinny strips
4 Tbs. Soy Sauce

4 Tbs. Sugar
4 Tbs. Olive Oil
2 Tbs. Minced Garlic
2 Green Onions, chopped

2 Tbs. Sesame Seeds

1 Bunch Broccoli
Olive Oil
Kosher Salt
1 Tbs. Minced Garlic

The night before: Mix soy sauce, olive oil, garlic (2 Tbs), sugar, and onions in a large bowl.  Add strips of steak.  Cover and refrigerate overnight.

At dinner time: cut the broccoli into bite sized pieces, put them in a glass casserole dish.  Drizzle just a bit of olive oil over broccoli, along with 1 Tbs. garlic and a sprinkle of kosher salt.  Stir it together.  Roast for 20-25 minutes at 450, or until desired crispness is reached.  We like it to be a little bit blackened.

While broccoli cooks, prepare rice of your choice.  Also cook meat in a frying pan over med-high heat until done, stirring frequently (about 5 minutes).  Add sesame seeds and stir, cooking for another minute or so.

When everything has cooked, put it together on your plate: rice + beef + broccoli AND enjoy!  Once it's on the plate I like to sprinkle a few more sesame seeds on top as well.

My wife tried this today for our lunch and it's very tasty! I really like to broccoli that she combined to the beef! I wish she can cook this again.
