The Children's Theatre presents "The Day Before Christmas" {GIVEAWAY}

This GIVEAWAY has now ended!  Congrats to Jenny W. who said: "We cut down a live tree each year. I know my kids will remember this tradition when they are older"  You have 24 hours to email me at Katie(at)Cards-by-Katie(dot)com or another winner will be drawn.  I hope to see some of you at this great holiday show!  And to those who didn't win this time, stay tuned...I have a very TASTY giveaway coming up next week!!!

I treasure all of the Christmas traditions we are creating with our children, one of my most
favorite is going to see the Children's Theatre Christmas production.  We started this last year, with a trip to the Taft Theatre followed by a nice dinner at a restaurant downtown.  I'm eager to repeat this holiday tradition again this year.  All of the Children's Theatre productions are fabulous for families, because they are geared towards the munchkins, but make the parents smile as well.  They are short shows, and very engaging, so even my little wild Henry sits through them in fascination.  While all of their shows are great, the Christmas production always takes the cake because it puts everyone in the Christmas spirit.

This year the Children's Theatre will be presenting "The Day Before Christmas" and here's a little bit about about the show from their press release:
There is a flurry of activity at the North Pole. Santa and Mrs. Claus, the elves, the reindeer, the forest animals and even the Toys themselves prepare for the biggest night of the year!   It takes a lot of planning and hard work to get a sleigh off the ground and to deliver toys to children around the world, but Santa’s team is ready and willing.  Or at least they think they are before a tricky Jack Frost decides to try to stop the Christmas Festivities with a little comical chaos and calamity!

 Single tickets and subscriptions for the rest of the 13-14 season are available now by calling 513-569-8080 ext. 10.  Visit www.thechildrenstheatre.com for more information.

My immediate family (sisters, mom, dad, nieces/nephews) all gather together on Christmas morning after we've done Santa presents at our own houses and have a great big breakfast. The kids get to show off their new toys to their cousins and we get to exchange gifts. My husband and I host it and I look forward to it every year.

I think my favorite holiday tradition is Mass on Christmas. It's such a lovely, peaceful and joyous moment to share with my family amidst so much hullabaloo. We get the time to focus on the reason for the day.

I love making Christmas cookies with my family. My husband attempts to get creative while the kids try to out do everyone. Of course it is a giant fun mess but we share them with family and friends

1. What is my favorite holiday tradition? My daughter has a cause she does called Alyssa's Coloring For A Cause. She collects coloring books and takes them to Children's Hospital. We make it a day event. Drop off items, lunch in hospital, then to Ronald McDonald house to drop off more donations. We look forward to this day all year. Our holiday is about the giving.
