How hot is it in your neck of the woods?!? It's unbearably hot here in the greater Cincinnati area. I would take winter with it's snow and ice over this hot weather any day. So I'm always looking for ways to stay cool. My favorite way to stay cool is to sip on a bourbon slush. Yum. Yum. Yum. My mother-in-law shared this recipe with me, and now I share it with you my faithful readers. Stay cool. And feel free to leave links in the comment section for your favorite cool treat for a hot summer day!
Bourbon Slush
Mix together:
2 cups boiling water + 4 tea bags (let steep for a few minutes). My friend Nicole used a peach flavored tea, and I really liked this change in flavor!
7 cups boiling water
1.5 cups sugar
Large can of frozen OJ concentrate
2 small cans frozen Lemonade concentrate
2-3 cups Bourbon (I always opt for 3 of course!)
Stir together and pour into plastic containers & freeze. Then enjoy. And share with me if you are so inclined.

Food schmood...immediately I opened the bourbon slush! How did I miss that this summer?? I like to freeze shepherd's pie, bean soup and chili. FYI, your lemon basil chicken was awesome. Thanks for sharing!
